The colorful and close-knit community of Burkittsville is the setting for this week’s Frederick 360. Amid one of the most historic areas in all of Maryland, the show takes a look at some decidedly more modern issues, including the extent of Frederick’s problem with Lost & Stolen prescription drugs. We take a look at Burkittsville’s terrifying past, and commentator Ikea Wilson gives us a little insight from where she’s sitting this week. Shuan Bucher at the Frederick Arts Council has some information about our area’s newest public art project, a collaboration between his organization and a somewhat unlikely partner. Bill O’Neal talks to us about the Institute for in Retirement and how its helping area seniors keep their minds sharp and active. Join us as we visit P.J. Gilligan at the Burkittsville General Store, get a rundown on what’s going on in and around Frederick this week and next, and look in on a local jump-roping team. We’ll visit the famous monument dedicated to Civil War correspondents in Gathlandm talk to the good people at the Frederick Alliance for Youth, and end up with a quick look around at the AOPA Fly-In. All this and much more…this week on Frederick 360!
