September 16, 2008 Show

Get the Flash Player to see this player.

In this week's episode of Frederick 360, we visited some local farms to see how they got their names. We stopped by Country Mouse Farm and spoke with owner, Mary Anne Smith. We also stopped by Miolea Farm and asked Brian Biggins about the historical significance of his farm's name. On the topic of Frederick County's possible addition of an Incinerator, we visit Montgomery County's Incinerator to better see how trash is either recycled, or converted to energy. Brothers, Lee and Glen Brubaker, are in their 90's. But they have been a helping hand at The Urbana Fire Company Carnival for the better part of 35 years. We talk with them about their history with the Fire Company, and hear about how they love assisting with the Carnival. For many schools in the county, there simply is not enough money in their budget for "top of the line" sporting fields. We hear about how Middletown and Walkersville High Schools turn to private funding in order to improve their stadiums. We take a look at the Edgeworks Knife & Supply Company on Market Street; and talk with business owner Sean Norris. Stopping by WFMD, we'll hear from Bob Miller, about what he enjoys about the Great Frederick Fair, and some renovations it should think about. In the Go and Do, we'll have information on this year's final Alive@5 event, the Middletown Heritage Days Festival, and New Market's Harvest Day. Then we'll stop in to the Chef's Outlet and the Kitchen Studio, with Chef Christine Van Bloem. She's whipping up some Thai Crabcakes with a Cilantro Peanut Sauce. And our Last Note comes from a performance by The Rock and Roll Relics. Thanks for watching!
