On the corner of Bentz and Second Streets is Frederick’s Memorial Park, where a monument can be found to all the soldiers lost in every American war from the French and Indian to the Gulf War. Of special interest are the inscribed plaques, paying special tribute to the Frederick County soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in each of those wars. Hello Frederick pays a respectful visit this week to this place of honor and remembrance. The programming line-up includes The Family Zone, a visit from Stover Hearth & Patio’s Vicki Foy about using accessories to enhance your outdoor living space and History Minute takes a look at another of Frederick’s treasures, Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Dr. Timi Manzouranis brings her recipe for Baklava to Celebrity Chef, Joe Volz has an observation on certain dog walkers and we’ll visit with the recipients of the 2008 Peacecrafter Award. Cheryl Wright of Homewood talks about something you shouldn’t ignore as you prepare for retirement, and Autumn Hollis encourages an eco-friendly trend that’s both environmentally correct…and delicious!
